Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's Love Story: A Timeline of Heartwarming Moments

Emily Blunt is a recently Academy-nominated actress with the most prolific career and John Krasinski, a famed television star with various accolades under his belt. Put the two Hollywood Lumineers together and we have what we call a winning couple.  

One can't simply decide on which part of the duo's trajectory has been the most intriguing; is it their illustrious transformation from jobbing actors to become the two most acclaimed stars, or their personal life, that has been the beacon of stability and true love in an industry that is overshadowed with futile romances, and short-lived marriages.  

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski: How it All Started?  

Blunt, best known for her roles in The Girl on the Train, A Quiet Place, and Oppenheimer, has been married to Krasinski since 2010. Throughout their 13-year-long nuptial, the couple has remains devoid of dramas that mostly surrounds the A-list couples, hence, putting themselves as a much-adored couple.   

The pair's love story started in 2008, albeit Krasinski, best recognized for playing Jim Halpert on the NBC sitcom, The Office, had been crushing hard on Blunt ever since he watched her work in The Devil Wears Prada. John had no qualms while admitting that he watched the iconic Meryl Streep starrer a total of 75 times.  

The then-budding actors crossed paths via a mutual friend at a restaurant in 2008. While reflecting on the fateful night, The Office alum said, "It's one of those things where as soon as you meet someone you kind of know." The two had their first date shortly after and the romance took a whirlwind pace thereafter as they got engaged within a year, in August 2009.  

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's Happily Ever After!   

Less than a year after what they deemed a "casual" engagement, Blunt and Krasinski kicked off their happily ever after journey. The Oscar-nominated actress and her then-groom held their intimate ceremony at George Clooney's estate in Lake Como on July 10, 2010.   

Clooney, who is a good friend of John, had apparently offered his estate to the couple for their special day, but it was only after repeated asks that Krasinski and Blunt agreed to commemorate their wedding there. The then-newly married couldn't stop gushing about each other, a love language that has remained the same even after all these years. 

"Meeting John really changed my life," Blunt said after two years of marriage. "When I feel the support that I have from him, I feel invincible," Emily added. The duo welcomed their firstborn, Hazel Grace, in February 2014. "Emily and I are so incredibly happy to welcome our daughter Hazel into the world today," The Office alum announced.  

The couple's family grew bigger with the birth of their second daughter, Violet, in June 2016. Besides being a fan-favorite couple and doting parents, Blunt and Krasinski also make for efficient colleagues. The two joined forces to star in Krasinski's sci-fi horror directorial, A Quiet Place, in 2017.  

Not only was the flick a big blockbuster, but it also amplified the couple's already perfect relationship. "This weird intersection happened while filming where I totally forgot I was her husband," John said of his wife's acting flair. Given the movie's success, the two were further encouraged to make a sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, which premiered in May 2021.

The Girl on the Train actress and her Emmy-nominated husband think that they were lucky to have found each other. While an incorporeal destiny has certainly played a major part in their relationship, a lot of work and consistent adherence have also been major factors in Blunt and Krasinski's successful marriage.

Emily recently opened up about the moment she found she had been nominated for her first Oscars for her role in Oppenheimer. And as expected, Krasinski was present with his wife as she learned the news. As per Blunt's statement, she and John were out tending to their furry friend during the glorious moment.  

"I did pick up her poop and then I heard that I got nominated so it was perfect," says the English actress, adding, "I did have a brief cry in the middle of Brooklyn." Krasinski also joined in with his wife's teary celebration. "I think he went and put it in the trash and then we both cried," Blunt recalled.
