Britney Spears, the undisputed princess of pop, has seen the worst side of fame, and her newly-released memoir, The Woman in Me, is the ultimate testament to her tumultuous experiences in the industry. Britney became an overnight sensation in 1998 and as she went on to achieve groundbreaking feats in the years that followed, so began the gradual descent to a hardships-filled life. In her book, the Femme Fatale hitmaker recalls how she was exploited, ridiculed, and chained from the very start. Spears was in her early teen years when she lost her virginity to her young love, Reg Jones. The Grammy winner's first public relationship was with singer Justin Timberlake, whom she dated from 1998 to 2002.   

The Baby, One More Time hitmaker has unveiled wild stories of her Timberlake relationship in her tell-all memoir, which has landed the NSYNC star in hot water. Britney claims that Justin, who then called America's Golden Boy, broke up with her via a two-word text. The revelation doesn't end here.  

The Princess of Pop reveals how the Mirror hitmaker serial cheated on her and the worst of it, encouraged her to get an abortion after she told him about her unexpected pregnancy. The Womanizer singer couldn't undergo an operative abortion and instead, had to ingest some pills to abort the baby in order to avoid the media from finding out.  

"To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life," says Britney, who further reveals how the experience messed her up for a while. After Timberlake dumped her via a text that read, "It's Over," in 2002, Spears had a brief rebound fling with actor Colin Farrel. "Brawl is the only word for it — we were all over each other," Britney writes.     

She married her first husband, Jason Alexander, her childhood friend, in January 2004- only to annul the nuptial after 55 hours. Britney was in her right senses when she walked down the aisle for the second time the same year.  

She married Kevin Federline on September 18, 2004, after a whirlwind romance. Britney and Federline went on to welcome two sons, Jayden, and Sean, during their short-lived nuptial. Since their divorce in 2007, Spears and Federline have had a cold-hot relationship.

The Grammy-winning singer met Sam Asghari, an actor, and fitness instructor, on the sets of her 2016 MV, Slumber Party. Despite the significant age gap between the two, the duo quickly struck up a whirlwind romance and went official in early 2017. The not-so-picture-perfect couple, at least to fans, who didn't stan their relationship at first, calling Asghari too young, or ill-motivated, started to see their chemistry along the way.   

Asghari stood strong beside Britney as she navigated her endless hardships, including her mental health battle, and her struggle to break free from Jamie Spears from the conservatorship. The couple got engaged in September 2021 and tied the knot in June 2022.  

Fans were left beyond disappointed when the fitness instructor filed for divorce from Spears earlier this year in July. Citing "irreconcilable difference" as the main reason behind their split, Asghari explained that he and his estranged wife will continue to "hold on to the love, and respect for one another." 

Spears may have failed in the marriage business for the third time but at least it didn't leave a bitter taste in her mouth. In her tell-all memoir, the mother of two adoringly writes about her third ex-husband, calling him a "gift from God." "I'm freaking out about her, I hope she takes over the world," Asghari said following Britney's memoir release.
