Who is Gray O'Donoghue?

Gray O'Donoghue was born in Norfolk, England. The dad of Gary O'Donoghue was a semi-professional football player who also worked as a taxi driver and his mother taught dancing in the ballroom. O'Donoghue was born partly sighted, but by the time he was eight, he was completely blind. 

He was trained for the Blind at Worcester College, where he played blind football for England. O'Donoghue then attended Oxford University's Christ Church where he studied philosophy and modern languages. 

His first task was to work for a braille manufacturing department, where he was requested to run the photocopier, given work experience at the BBC.

O'Donoghue joined the BBC after the graduation, becoming a junior reporter on BBC Radio 4's Today program. On the first day of his work, he was asked to bungee jump off Chelsea Bridge. During his career, he has covered stories for BBC News in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the U.S. 

O'Donoghue became a Westminster-based political correspondent in 2004, reporting on radio, television, and internet media. O'Donoghue has been the Chief Political Correspondent for BBC Radio 4 since October 2011, he replaced Norman Smith, mainly reporting for the programs Today and PM.

O'Donoghue has a very smoothing running life. Gray is a married man. He tied a knot with a Sarah Lewthwaite in the presence of close friends and family.
