The killing of George Floyd was one of the vilest acts committed by an officer of the law that not only robbed people of their peace of mind and justice but also robbed a family of a father and partner.
The circumstances of his death sparked nationwide protests in the US and brought light to the numerous cases of police brutality and racism. Floyd’s family suffered the loss after then-officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for around 9 and a half minutes.

Who Is George Floyd’s Wife/Widow?
At the time of his death, George Floyd was not married, however, he was in a serious relationship with Courtney Ross. According to Ms. Ross, she started dating George more than 3 years ago.
In addition to this, Courtney has a daughter but it is yet to be confirmed if her father was Floyd.
Ross described her former partner as an ‘angel’ and was devastated by the news of his death. Additionally, Ms. Ross was the teacher for Daunte Wright, another African-American killed by the police.
Wright’s killing has shaken the African-American community once again and there have been a lot of protests, just like in Floyd’s case. David Banda was one of the celebrities that supported Floyd’s cause.

Floyd was a truck driver, a security guard, and an aspiring rapper who was killed after a police officer knelt on his neck, preventing him from breathing, while he was on the ground and several other officers were stepping on his back.
After repeatedly telling the officers that he couldn’t breathe, he passed away. The police had apprehended him after receiving a tip from a cashier that George was passing a counterfeit $20 bill. The policeman responsible for his death, Derek Chauvin is being charged with murder.
