Inside Heidi Klum's three marriages: The model-turned-businesswoman is a mother to four!
A prominent model, television host, and businesswoman, Heidi Klum is certainly a rarity; simply because there aren't many known stars from Germany with Heidi's level of stardom. Klum was the first German model to work with Victoria's Secret Angels as an angel.
Klum's astonishing success throughout the decades has allowed the model to branch her career into other fields and built a multi-million dollar empire. In the last decade, Heidi has become a better-known businesswoman than a model. With a career constantly soaring to greater heights, Klum, unfortunately, has experienced a turbulent journey in her personal life.
Heidi Klum's Tumultuous Romantic History!
In pursuit of her holistic stardom, Klum experienced many high-profile relationships, three of which turned into marriages. The America's Got Talent judge is notorious for her active and tabloid-favorite love life. And it all started with stylist Ric Pipino, who Klum married in 1997. The model was only 24 at the time and had yet to break into the A-list world.
During their nearly five-year-long nuptial, from 1997 to 2002, Heidi and Ric made many red carpet appearances, while keeping the personal details off the limit. Following her quiet split from Pipino in 2002, the Victoria's Secret model quickly moved on with F1 chief, Flavio Briatore, 23 years her senior, and known for his penchant for young models.
Klum and Briatore's one-year-short romance resulted in the birth of Heidi's first child, Leni, in May 2004; but the duo had called it quit before that. Heidi, however, wasn't alone during the birth of her daughter. She had musician Seal, who she had started dating in early 2004, by her side.
Klum and Seal eventually tied the knot on May 10, 2005, at a Mexican beach. The pair welcomed three kids and Seal even adopted Heidi's first daughter in 2009. The duo made one of the strongest Hollywood couples for a long time until their split in 2012. The estranged spouses continue to keep an amicable relationship.
The Project Runway host's lesser-known romance was with her bodyguard, Martin Kirsten, with whom she jumped into a relationship almost immediately after her split from Seal. Heidi ended things with Kirsten in 2014 and started courting art curator Vito Schnabel. The pair's romance was relatively long, lasting good three years.
Inside Heidi Klum's Third Marriage!
Klum and her current husband, Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz, have definitely become one of the most adored celebrity couples. Given Heidi's long history of failed relationships, most of which promised great potential at first, fans are still unsure if the pair is an end-game.
Heidi, 50, on the other hand, couldn't be more sure of her third marriage. Heidi has time and again asserted that Kaulitz is, indeed, "the one." The duo first sparked romance rumors on the sets of America's Got Talent, in March 2018.
The duo sharing a kiss on the sets cut the dating rumors loose and it took the love birds two months to become official. Things seemingly escalated fast after the couple made their debut at the Cannes amfAR Gala, in May 2018. By December, the budding lovers had turned into fiancés. "I said yes," wrote a smitten Klum as she shared a picture of her engagement ring.
The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in February 2019. The pair followed their relatively humble wedding ceremony with extravagant nuptials in Capri, Italy, four months later in August. Despite heavy scrutiny from the beginning, the supermodel and her loving husband have been showing off their palpable chemistry ever since.
Heidi's third husband, Kaulitz, is a German-born guitarist. The model previously dished on her amazing compatibility with Tom, citing that it could be because of their shared roots. Kaulitz is best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band, Tokio Hotel, which he formed with his twin brother, Bill Kaulitz.
Heidi and Kaulitz's romance drew much criticism, mainly because of their age difference. While the industry conveniently overlooks male powerhouse dating women as young as their grandkids, a female megastar doing the same is frowned upon. Tom is 17 years younger than Klum.
The couple tied the knot within a year of dating in February 2019!
"Lately, I'm being reminded more about my age by people other than myself," the model-turned-businesswoman said in an interview. Heidi's lengthy explanation about the age backlash boiled down to age is just a number; while stating the overused line, Klum said, "You have to just live a happy life without worrying too much about what people think."
Heidi Klum's Four Kids!
The supermodel is a doting and stylish mother of four. Throughout her journey as a mother, Heidi has made her exquisite fashion sense a big point of parenting. "We have a rule in the house," the businesswoman once said before adding, "Rule No. 1 is always to look cool, and rule No. 2 is don't forget about rule No. 1."
And as taught by the fashion maestro herself, Klum's brood of four has turned out to be fittingly stylish. Klum's oldest, Leni, who she shares with Briatore, is the best-known of four. With Instagram followers of over 2 million, Leni is living her life in the spotlight. Leni has already ventured into modeling and has worked with Dior Beauty and GHD.
Heidi's secondborn, Henry Samuel, 17, is the first of the three kids she shares with Seal, followed by their second son, Johan, 16, and youngest born, Lou, 13. Leni may have already decided on her life in the limelight but Klum is adamant on keeping her three youngest kids away from the media's reach until they reach their legal adult age.
The mother of four often gushes about her kids and religiously shows her appreciation for them. The Victoria's Secret model praised her oldest son, Henry's fashion sense, and lauded her second son, Johan, for his creative side, and knack for painting. Klum's youngest, Lou, as the model says, has inherited Heidi's immense love for Halloween, and iconic costumes.
