From colleagues to partners for a lifetime, Jesse and Kirsten Dunst's relationship has transpired like a slowly shifting season. After years of inconspicuous dating bliss, during which the couple welcomed two kids, Jesse, and Kirsten finally tied the knot last year.    

Plemons's now-wife, Dunst, a fellow Academy nominee, is most notably known for her role in the Spider-Man trilogy. Her acclaimed credits also include Interview with the Vampire, Jumanji, Little Women, Melancholia, and The Power of the Dog. Before Jesse, Dunst had relatively high-profile relationships with actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Garrett Hedlund. 

The Academy-nominated actor first met his now-wife, Dunst, 41, on the sets of FX series Fargo in 2015. The plot of the series didn't entail a romantic setting as the pair played spouses embroiled in a criminal cover-up, but even the twisted screenplay couldn't stop the pair from falling in love.   

The fact that the Breaking Bad actor knew Dunst was the one from the get-go speaks volumes about their relationship. "I knew that she would be in my life for a long time," said the Oscar nominee while reflecting on his early dating days with Kirsten, who despite being in a relationship with Garrett Hedlund at the time, felt no different. 

"We fell in love creatively first. He was like a creative soul mate to me and the way we both work," said the Fargo actress. The co-stars' romance didn't commence on the set but a year later when the show's second season had ended, and Dunst had broken off with Hedlund.   

A year into their low-profile romance, Plemons and Kirsten sparked engagement rumors. An insider soon confirmed that the pair were indeed engaged to be married. Although it turned out to be a long engagement, the pair were done cementing their family until their wedding in 2022.  

The Breaking Bad actor and Dunst welcomed their first kid in 2018, followed by the birth of their second one in 2021. While addressing their prolonged betrothal, Dunst said, "We're about as married as you can get", further explaining how the two wanted to fully bask in the joy of parenthood instead of jumping into a hasty wedding ceremony.    

The co-stars-turned-spouses co-starred in Netflix's The Power of the Dog, which garnered them Academy Award nominations. Plemons and Kirsten got married in an intimate ceremony, on July 2, 2022. The Breaking Bad actor and his lovely wife have since been keeping it low and graceful.

Plemons and Dunst's candid quotes about their kids are as rare as they can get. But the former co-stars drop little anecdotes every now and then. Being a mother wasn't on Dunst's bucket list until she met Plemons. But once she formed a stable haven with The Irishman actor, things started falling into place. Dunst now wanted to "have babies and chill."   

After months of swirling pregnancy rumors, Dunst made the official announcement via a stunning photoshoot. "If I hadn't met Jesse, I would have frozen my eggs. [But] it feels like I lucked out," the actress said while gushing about her amazing pregnancy journey. The couple welcomed their firstborn, Ennis Howard Plemons, on May 3, 2018.   

The pair welcomed their second son in May 2021! 

The duo's second pregnancy announcement came with a photo shoot as striking as their first one amid the pandemic in March 2021. "Getting pregnant during lockdown was good for me mentally because I had to take care of myself, and I had something to look forward to," said the actress. Their second kid, James Robert, was born in May 2021.
