Everything to know about Marilyn Manson's scandalous personal life: The rock musician has been married twice!
Marilyn Manson is best known as the lead singer of his namesake band, which he established in 1989 and is still a hit among his legion of rock enthusiasts to this day. The American rock icon has been a controversial figure all his life, be it for his rebellious stage personality, his narcissistic lyrics, and in recent years, as an alleged rapist.
Born Brian Hugh Warner on January 5, 1969, in Canton, Ohio, Manson's later gothic persona was shaped in a household submerged in the after-effects of violence. ( his father suffered from PTSD after the Vietnam War) Marilyn's name, a blend of singer Marilyn Monroe and serial killer Charles Manson, alone is enough to realize the musician's obsession with celebrity and violence.
Inside Marilyn Manson's Personal Life!
It's hard to imagine a musician like Manson, whose songs mostly incite brutality as a call for change, in love. The heavy metal rock’n’roll star's romantic life has been anything but romantic, at least not in the public domain. The Dope Hat crooner has been married twice and has had a few controversial relationships over the years.
Marilyn's first notable girlfriend, actress/activist Rose McGowan, came forward in support of Marilyn's alleged victims, in 2021. McGowan, 50, also one of the leading figures to rebuke predators like Harvey Weinstein, accused Marilyn of exhibiting horrible behavior during their relationship. Marilyn and Rose started dating in 1997 and were engaged for a brief time before their split in 2001.
Following his split from McGowan, the goth icon started dating vedette, and burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, popularly known as the Queen of the Burlesque. The duo had known each other for a while before they decided to become a couple on Marilyn's 35th birthday. Manson and Dita enjoyed a four-year-long dating bliss and walked down the aisle on November 28, 2005.
The pair's wedding ceremony, as expected by the media and fans, was no conventional affair. The pair's gothic wedding ritual took place in Dita's home and the couple ditched the traditional attire to don striking, repulsive to many, wedding dress, and function. Their nuptial lasted a little over a year and in December 2006, Von Teese filed for divorce, "citing irreconcilable differences."
The burlesque star later revealed that she was tired of Manson's party lifestyle and his affairs. "We were completely monogamous," Dita explained, adding, "I think people thought we were real free and open, but we really believed in commitment and tradition and our vows."
The rockstar's most notorious relationship to date was with actress Evan Rachel Wood, who she started dating after his divorce from Dita. The Wrapped in Plastic singer was 36 and Rachel was 19 when they went public with their romance in January 2007. The new couple alert obviously didn't sit right with fans.
"People were cruel," Wood said while recalling the hate she received for dating the controversial and old musician. If things had flowed as the rockstar wished, he would've married Wood. The pair were engaged for seven months. "I just don’t think we were right for each other," the actress said after their breakup.
The duo's long-dissolved relationship came to the limelight again in 2016 and for all the wrong reasons. The Once Again actress had come out as a sexual assault victim in the wake of the #metoo movement but it was only in 2021 that Wood dropped the name. "The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson," she said after years of speculations.
The Mechanical Animals hitmaker is currently married to his second wife, photographer Lindsay Usich, who is 16 years his junior. The pair reportedly started dating in 2012 until their split in 2015. The rock singer delved into his second marriage during the pandemic and his bride was later revealed to be Usich. Despite the slew of allegations against Manson since their wedding, Usich continues to stand beside her husband.
A Timeline of Accusations Against Marilyn Manson!
Despite being accused of sexual molestation by a dozen women, Manson has maintained his innocence time and again, and avoided trials. The disgraced musician recently settled a lawsuit with an alleged victim, who has remained anonymous since she made the claims against him in 2021.
The settlement has reportedly saved Marilyn plenty of money as he would've had to spend a lot more had the lawsuit and the trial ensued. "This plaintiff has now agreed to drop her suit in exchange for an insurance payment representing a fraction of her demands and far less than the cost to Brian of proceeding to trial," Manson's Howard King said in a statement.
Earlier this year, the Dope Show crooner was sued for assault of a minor. The plaintiff alleged that the singer's exploitation of her started when she was 16, and the crime continued for years. Actress Esmé Bianco was one of the many victims. Bianco sued the rockstar for rape and physical abuse in April 2021 and the two reached a settlement in January this year.

Although Manson's ex, Wood, made some horrendous allegations against him, the actress didn't take the legal road. Wood's courage to raise her voice, however, helped Manson's other victims, including model Morgan Smithline, and two Jane Does to share their story of survival under the accused predator.
