Inside Miranda Lambert's two marriages: The singer is child-free at 39!
Miranda Lambert is hands down, one of the most successful stars in country music. Throughout her two-decade-long career in the industry, Lambert has garnered three Grammys and several ACM awards. Miranda's venture to become a stellar singer-songwriter began with the talent competition show, Nashville Star.
Despite being placed third in the show, Miranda went on to have a far more successful career than the first two winners. Lambert's discography includes nine hit albums and several collaborations with renowned bands and singers. The Grammy winner's personal life has been as high-profile and talked-about as her career. At 39, the country singer has been married twice and is child-free.
Miranda Lambert is Married to Her Second Husband, Brendan McLoughlin!
A match made in heaven, Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin have been married for only four years. So far, the duo's relationship has been enviable, and flourishing. Lambert's smooth-sailing marriage with McLoughlin proves that we can, indeed, have it all. The singer first met Brendan, a police officer, in 2019.
The Heart Like Mine crooner was performing with her country music group, Pistol Annies, in November 2018 when she crossed paths with McLoughlin. Miranda's now-husband, Brendan, an officer with the New York Police Department at the time, was at the show to provide security to Lambert and her group members.
The Grammy winner recalls being attracted to the police officer from the get-go. Calling their first meet-cute a "love at first sight", Lambert tells how her bandmates played the matchmakers for the pair. The singer-songwriter and then new beau rushed into their romance so hastily that her fans were left perplexed.
Skipping past the usual dating rumors, playing coy, and going official stages, the Baggage Claim singer and McLoughlin jumped right into marital life. Lambert and Brendan's low-key dating bliss went on for about three months and in January 2019, the Texas-born singer revealed her married status in a surprise post.
"In honor of Valentine's Day, I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched," Miranda captioned alongside some sweet snippets of their wedding. Explaining the reason behind their hush-hush romance and a secret wedding, Miranda said that she learned the lesson after her overpublicized past love life.
"I made it a point to keep it as private as I could for as long as I could," said Lambert. Although the country crooner is childfree, she is a bonus mother to Brendan's little one from his previous relationship. Lambert previously shared that she and her husband have built an incredibly blended family with Brendan's ex.
The singer and officer couple have since been taking turns, showing their utmost support for each other. Lambert even cast her husband as her love interest in her song, Settling Down. Earlier this year, the couple celebrated their fourth anniversary with a tropical vacation.
Miranda Lambert's First Marriage!
Miranda had a taste of high-profile marriage before she learned to keep it on the low. The House That Built Me hitmaker was famously married to fellow country singer, Blake Shelton, from 2011 to 2015. The pair met via work and as they fell in love, and ventured into their conjugal journey, they collaborated on over 12 songs, including Over You, and Love Song.
The country duo started dating in 2006 and got engaged in May 2010, followed by their star-studded wedding in 2011. The twosome seemed like the perfect couple and at one point, they were even considered the most iconic. But after only four-year-long of marriage and playing the fan-favorite duo, Miranda and Blake announced their split in July 2015.
Lambert and her ex-husband, Shelton, don't share a cordial bond!
"This is not the future we envisioned," a rep for the couple said. The country couple asserted that there were no hard feelings and that they both intend to move forward with their lives. But it didn't take the estranged couple long to show their true feelings. Shelton, who is now married to his third wife, Gwen Stefani, shaded Lambert by calling her "complicated."
Several sources claimed that the duo separated because they had their fair share of problems. And like the barrage of attention in her life wasn't overwhelming enough, Lambert's ex, Jeff Allen, too, jumped in the chaotic party, and accused Miranda of cheating with Shelton while she was dating him.
The three-time Grammy winner got candid about her publicized marriage and divorce. "I wasn't prepared for that," Lambert explained, adding, "Well, I don’t think anyone is. It's not nice sometimes, but I think you've gotta take it with a grain of salt." Following her divorce from Shelton, Miranda dated Anderson East for two years.
