Dive into actress Rachel McAdams' unexplored love life: The Notebook alum is a mother to two!
Fans have long awaited actress Rachel McAdams to come back as her sweet self. And it seems the wait is finally over. Rachel has recently starred in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and What If...?, but her upcoming, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, which is already garnering massive love, will be her first non-Marvel role since 2020.
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on November 17, 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada. She landed her breakthrough early on, playing the iconic antagonist, Regina George, in the cult classic Mean Girls.
McAdams then shot to become a sweetheart after starring in the 2004 romantic drama, The Notebook. In her prime, she stepped away from Hollywood to keep her sanity and made her return in 2008 with Married Life.
Rachel McAdams is in a Committed Relationship!
McAdams, 44, has never been married in her life. The Oscar-nominated actress, instead, delved into a committed relationship with screenwriter Jamie Linden a long time ago. Being a prominent Hollywood actress, there's no doubt that Rachel has experienced most of her relationships in the spotlight, but with Linden, the actress has managed to stay under the radar.
The unlikely couple was first linked in 2016 and a source soon confirmed the budding romance. "They're really cute together and seem very comfortable with one another. He is a great guy," the source said. Rachel and Liden's extra reticence and low-key romance have established them as the ultra- low-key couple.
The twosome never confirmed their relationship let alone give any update on their lives. In early 2018, insiders revealed that the Mean Girls alum was expecting her firstborn with Jamie. And sure enough, there was no confirmation or gleeful celebration of the milestone. The Notebook actress reportedly became a mother in August of the year.
The Spotlight actress gave fans an insight into her motherhood journey in 2018. Calling motherhood the greatest thing she has experienced, McAdams said, "They say your life is not your own anymore, but I had 39 years of me, I was sick of me, I was so happy to put the focus on some other person."
McAdams also took time to comment on her life with the screenwriter, who she credited for bringing normalcy to her life. "We live such a gypsy life as actors, so [it’s great] being with someone who can be on the road as well," Rachel said while referring to her partner's flexible vocation.
The actress also shared how she and Jamie live a serene lifestyle in the country. McAdams and Linden spend their days tending to their farm and animals. "We've been doing some planting, some okra — well, I mean, I do the planting and he snacks most of the day," the Mean Girls star quipped.
The Oscar-nominated actress shares two kids with Jamie!
The enduring couple welcomed their second child in 2021. The Spotlight actress confirmed the news while promoting her 2022 flick, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Confirming the sex of the child, Rachel said, "I want to keep his life private, even if mine isn't."
Rachel's partner and her kids' daddy, Linden, is a native of Florida. Jamie's screenwriting credits include Dear John, starring Channing Tatum, We Are Marshall, starring Matthew McConaughey. and Money Monster, starring George Clooney.
Inside Rachel McAdams' Dating History!
McAdams has always been a reserved A-lister. Just the status of being one of the most-sought actresses brings enough attention and there's certainly no reason to go out and invite more. At the height of her career, McAdams' reticence wasn't any good. The actress drew notice no matter what.
But despite the media's constant scrutiny and probe to squeeze some juice, Rachel kept her relationships relatively out of the spotlight. The actress's first celebrity boyfriend was Ryan Gosling, her co-star in The Notebook, one of the most sensational romantic films.
Much like their characters in the film, Allie, and Noah, who shared a love-and hate-relationship, McAdams and Gosling, too, seemed to be on the same page. The two actors reportedly couldn't stand the sight of each other and Gosling even wanted McAdams replaced.
The film's director, Nick Cassavetes, recalls Ryan pulling him to a side and asking him to fire McAdams. Long story short, the film was wrapped successfully and in spite of the initial mixed reviews, it turned out to be a sleeper hit with a separate fan base of its own.
The unfriendly co-stars also got their happy endings as they started dating shortly after. Rachel and Gosling were together for two years before they split ways due to their busy schedules. Ryan revealed how The Notebook fans were pissed at him for their breakup.
"A girl came up to me on the street, and she almost smacked me," Gosling shared after the breakup. The Barbie actor, who now shares two kids with Eva Mendes, added, "God bless The Notebook. It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life."
The Mean Girls actress dated her Midnight in Paris co-star, Michael Sheen, from 2010 to 2013. The couple only turned romantic after the movie was wrapped. The Oscar nominee once shared how she and Sheen didn't go more than three weeks without seeing each other.
The pair broke up because of their different interests. "Rachel wants to settle down and is dreaming of having a family," an insider said, adding, "Michael always seemed content with their relationship."
