Jim was the first television reporter to host a live broadcast from Saddam International Airport, currently known as Baghdad International Airport, after taken control by American forces.

The battle occurred in 2003, which was a part of the invasion of Iraq. On the third week of the attack, Coalition Forces Component Command elements deployed by the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division moved into Baghdad.

On 14th April, U.S. announced their victory, and former president George W. Bush gave mission accomplished speech on 1st May.
