Joy Reid is an American television star and news correspondent, widely known for her appearance at MSNBC. She also trended after President Donald Trump criticized her for being in showbiz with no talent. In January 2020, Reid slammed Trump for being responsible for Nazis "walking around" in America.

Reid was born on 8th December 1968, in New York, City, United States of America. Born to her American parents, she is of Afro-American ethnicity and holds an American nationality.

In 2003, Joy became the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism fellow. Later, in 2006, she served as the co-host for Radio One's Wake Up South Florida along with James T Thomas.

In 2014, Joy launched her show titled The Reid Report and made her appearance as the host. The program ran for a year until it was canceled on 19th February 2015. Following this, she started serving as a national correspondent at MSNBC, where Elise Jordan also serves as a political analyst.

Since 2016, Joy has been hosting the show titled Am Joy, which is a political weekend-morning talk show aired via  MSNBC. Reid, moreover, substitutes other MSNBC hosts such as Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes. 

Additionally, the famous journalist received a nomination for three NABJ Salute to Excellence Awards. One of her most notable works was reporting on a segment where a Pastor is pulled safely at Charlottesville during hurricanes in the Virgin Islands.

In April 2018, a Twitter account holder, @Jamie_maz, re-uploaded the tweets which were written from 2007 to 2009 on Reid's previous blog Reid Report. Regarding the position, The Nation also said it, 

"us[ed] the trope of gay sex to mock politicians and journalists."

Following the critics and their statements, Joy apologized, citing posts as "insensitive, tone-deaf and dumb."

Reid's second post also received many criticisms, where she explained kissing between men as disgusting to straight people and declared she was against same-sex marriage.

Besides that, Donald Trump also criticized her, saying she has no talent to make it in showbiz. In the post he wrote, Joy Reid did not know anything about him and slammed NBC as Fake News.
