From their two years of marital union, Jason and Joy have three children. Nasir Reid (aged 25) is the firstborn daughter of this duo while the middle child Jmar Reid is now 23 years old. Again two years later, the couple gave birth to their younger son, Nasir Reid, whose age is now 20.

The NY native-born TV host rarely posts pictures on social media with her two cute sons and a daughter. She recently wished her third baby birthday on October 23rd. "Even when they're not a baby, they're still YOUR baby. Happy birthday to my baby boy Miles -- proud of you every day and hoping your year 20 is your best yet. Love you!!", she said in the post.

A Twitter user @Jamie maz posts from Joy's former blog in 2017 which was published in 2007 and 2009 and her blog surfaced. That blog was targeted at Charlie Crist. She later apologized for her mistake after the post calling the messages "insensitive, tone-deaf, and stupid.

Another controversial post had been brought to public attention in April 2018, blog posts from 2005 to 2007. She urged her followers to watch the 9/11 film Loose Change, according to the Washington Post, and it tended to support Israel's decolonization.

The former MSNBC national correspondent posts caused PFLAG to cancel its decision to grant Reid and The Daily Beast to remove potential columns from it. An article released by that website strongly disputed her claim as a hacking victim. Reid opened, with an apology, the April 28, 2018 edition of AM Joy.

Despite all of the scandals, MSNBC stood by her and did not make any attempts to ban her from the network. She keeps apologizing and saying that she is a better person today. The MSNBC network also confirmed that the Reid who works for them is not the same person who allegedly wrote the blog's offensive posts today.
