Julie Wilson is an Emmy nominated former news anchor who was ABC11's Breaking News Anchor on Good Morning Carolina. She worked for ABC11 WTVD from January 2017 until December 2020. Wilson left her job to follow her passion of a travel journalist.
Julie Carnes was born and raised in Southwest Missouri, the United States. She has a younger sister named, Becca Barnes. In 2009, she attended Evangel University on a indoor/outdoor track and cross country scholarship.
After a year, Julie transferred to Missouri State University. There she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interpersonal Communication with a minor in Journalism.

In September 2018, Hurricane Florence continued to cause catastrophic damage in the Carolinas. At the time, Wilson who was in the field reporting on the storm interrupted the live stream to save a dog. The viewers and colleagues appreciated Julie's effort.
