Katie's father, Jerry Springer, died of pancreatic cancer on April 27, 2023, which was a very sad time for Katie and her family. She has since taken proactive strides toward creating awareness about pancreatic cancer through events such as the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's PurpleStride walk.
