Matthew Alan is an American actor and author who is best known for his recurring role Seth Massey in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why from 2017 to 2019. In addition to that, he is well known for portraying roles in hits series including as Havemeyer in Snowfall (2017), and as Chris Merrill in the Hulu series Castle Rock.

He was born in 1979 in Evansville, Indiana, the United States as Matthew Gerbig. His dad, Karen Gerbig work as a businessman and mother, Larry Gerbig is a homemaker. Further, he has one brother Chris Gerbig. He completed his graduation from Reitz High School in 1996 and got his degree from Western Kentucky University in 2000.
