Monique Angela Hicks, known professionally as Mo'Nique is an Academy Awardee stand-up comedian and actress. She gained fame after appearing in a spin-off film The Queens Kings of Comedy. Bob Saget is another American stand-up comedian.
Mo'Nique was born as Monique Angela Hicks on December 11, 1967, in Baltimore, Maryland to Alice Imes (engineer) and Steven Imes Jr (drug counselor). She grew up with three older siblings and attended Milford Mill High School. Mo'Nique graduated in 1987 from the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland.

Mo'Nique and basketball player Mark Jackson first met around 1997. They dated each other for nearly four years. They began appearing in public together and Mark always accompanied Mo'Nique on red carpet occasion. The pair then exchanged the wedding vows in 1997.
