Monique Angela Hicks, known professionally as Mo'Nique is an Academy Awardee stand-up comedian and actress. She gained fame after appearing in a spin-off film The Queens Kings of Comedy. Bob Saget is another American stand-up comedian.
Mo'Nique was born as Monique Angela Hicks on December 11, 1967, in Baltimore, Maryland to Alice Imes (engineer) and Steven Imes Jr (drug counselor). She grew up with three older siblings and attended Milford Mill High School. Mo'Nique graduated in 1987 from the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland.

Mo'Nique and basketball player Mark Jackson first met around 1997. They dated each other for nearly four years. They began appearing in public together and Mark always accompanied Mo'Nique on red carpet occasion. The pair then exchanged the wedding vows in 1997.
Mo'Nique gave birth to their first child Shalon Jackson in 1990. When Shalon reached two years of age, Mo'Nique and his husband adopted their second child Mark Jackson Jr. Mark Jr was born in 1992. They were reported to be dating just after her separation with Mark. Mo'Nique and her partner were blessed with twin sons on October 3, 2005. Jonathan Hicks and David Hicks were born two months prematurely.
Mo'Nique and Sidney finally married on May 20, 2006. In an interview with the New York Times, Mo'Nique revealed that she and Sidney are in an open relationship. Similarly, she repeated the same statements on The Oprah Winfrey Show. She said;
I've had to sneak and I've had to lie, and I don't want to do that any more. But my husband is so awesome and so fine and so—oh, girl...No other man can compare.
Being in an open relationship was all Mo'Nique's idea but Sidney too liked it. She believes that an open marriage makes marital life complete. Mo'Nique recently took a lash on Oprah Winfrey about the surprising turn towards the #MeToo movement.
