Off-screen, Clare married actor and director Dominic Gately in 2010 after falling for him back in the year 2000 when they were working together in a production of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit. The family is enriched with two children. 

Clare also actively supports several charitable societies, such as the Alzheimer's Society and Christie Charitable Fund.

Early Life and Theatrical Beginnings

Patti Clare was born on March 3, 1976, in Manchester, England. She expressed great interest in the performing arts during most of her young years, so she sought to develop her talents by joining local productions on stage.

Following graduation from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Clare pursued a prolific career in theater that included playing Edith in a 2000 production of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit at the Citizen's Theatre in Glasgow, and, five years later, as Mrs. Micawber in a stage play of David Copperfield at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.

Breakthrough on Coronation Street

Clare's luck changed in 2008 when she was cast for the role of Mary Taylor in the long-standing ITV soap opera Coronation Street. The role was only supposed to be for five episodes, but after she made such an impressively strong mark, blessed with comic timing, she was handed a new contract.

She has remained a popular face on Coronation Street since her return in January 2010.

She made an appearance in the children's fantasy series Young Dracula, the science-fiction series Torchwood, and the historical medical drama Casualty 1909, as well as in the BBC daytime soap opera Doctors. 

She has also appeared in the 2010 Coronation Street spin-off television film A Knight's Tale.

Awards and Nominations

Apart from the British Soap Awards for Best Comedy Performance, Clare got awards for her brilliant work in Coronation Street, with an invitation as well to the National Television Awards in 2012 as a nominee in the category of Best Serial Drama Performance.
