Paula Deen

Paula Deen is an American television personality and celebrity chef known for the food network shows, Paula's Party and Paula's Best Dishes. She is also the owner of The Lady and Sons restaurant. For the show, Paula's Home Cooking, she won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2007.

Deen was born as Paula Ann Hiers on 19th January 1947 in Albany, Georgia, the United States of America. She was born to parents Earl Wayne Hiers and Corrie A. Hiers.

Paula Deen's Marital Life with husband Michael Groover

The renown chef is happily married to her spouse Michael Groover, who is a retired tugboat captain. He also worked as a harbor pilot in the Port of Savannah, Georgia. The couple married in 2004 and and their wedding ceremony took place at Bethesda Academy in Savannah.

Deen's catering business The Bag Lady became successful as she moved to Abercorn Street, Savannah, in 1991 and opened her restaurant named The Lady. 

In January 1996, Deen opened her restaurant, The Lady & Sons, in the center of Savannah, on West Congress Street. The restaurant was also awarded for the International Meal of the Year in 1999, by USA Today. 

Paula's business relation with Food Network and Television

The same year, Deen received International Meal of the Year, Paula started her business terms with Food Network after she was introduced to Gordon Elliott by Erin Lewis.

Soon, she appeared on Ready, Set, Cook! As well. In early 2001, Deen was invited to film a pilot called Afternoon Tea. The network liked it and offered Deen to run her show, Paula's Home Cooking in 2002.
