Rachel Burden

Have you heard the Breakfast show BBC Radio 5 Live? If yes, then you are definitely familiar with the name Rachel Burden. She is presenting the show since 2011, alongside Nicky Campbell. Well, she is a radio news reporter and presenter from England.

Rachel Burden was born on 22 January 1975 as Rachel Mary Ann Cecilia Burden. Further, she is the daughter of a BBC Journalist, Paul Burden, and his wife. As for her schooling life, she studied at Wycombe High School from 1987 to 1993. After graduating her A-level from Trinity College, Dublin, she studied at Cardiff University in broadcast journalism.

Career Highlights

Burden started her career journalism career working at BBC Radio Suffolk as a reporter. Then she moved to  BBC Radio Bristol where she co-hosted the early morning breakfast show, working alongside Nigel Dando.

The day before her dad retired from the BBC, Rachel entered Radio 5 Live in 2003. In  May 2011, she took over the weekday breakfast show from Shelagh Fogarty alongside current co-presenter Nicky Campbell. Likewise, Rachel made her debut on the BBC Breakfast television program on Saturday 23 August 2015 as a relief presenter.

As of now, Rachel Burden shares a healthy marital relationship with her husband, Luke Mendham. Her spouse is also a BBC journalist. She and her husband tied the wedding knot in the year 2004 among close friends and family.
