Sendhil Ramamurthy is a well-known American actor whose parents hail from India. He is best known for his roles as geneticist Mohinder Suresh in the NBC sci-fi drama Heroes, Gabriel "Gabe" Lowan in Beauty and the Beast, Dr. Ramsey Rosso in The Flash, and Jai Wilcox in Covert Affairs.

The Flash star was born on May 17, 1974, in  Chicago, Illinois, the United States, to Rajam Ramamurthy and Somayaji Ramamurthy. His parents are physicians by profession. His childhood was spent with his sister, and he grew up together. However, he has not revealed the identity of his sister, who is a physician.

Rajam Ramamurthy, whose height is 177cm, went to Keystone School in San Antonio and passed out in 1991. Then, to follow in his parent's footsteps, he enrolled at Tufts University as a pre-med major. 

While attending Tufts, he became interested in acting and took an "Intro to Acting" class during his junior year. After appearing in many plays, including Our Country's Good, he decided to change his professional ambitions during his junior year. He then earned a bachelor's degree in history before enrolling at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London in 1996, where he graduated in 1998.
