Sunny Hostin's Personal Joy: Get to Know Her Husband and Their Blissful Life

Most know Sunny Hostin as the outspoken panelist on ABC's morning talk show The View. Hostin has held the coveted spot alongside other renowned women of strong opinions, including Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, for seven long years, making her a star in her own right. 

In addition to co-hosting the show that is known for fronting a multi-generational panel of women, Sunny is also a lawyer, journalist, author, and Senior Legal Correspondent and Analyst for ABC News. Hailing from a poverty-stricken background, Hostin has dedicated much of her life to her work, which, everyone would agree, has come to fruition as Sunny leads a pretty successful life.  

Sunny Hostin is Married to a Surgeon!  

If a flourishing career with a stable marriage is the ultimate recipe for a perfect life, then Sunny has got it all. The View host couldn't be more blessed in her personal life as she and her husband, Emmanuel Hostin, who is a renowned orthopedic surgeon, have been married since 1998.   

We've seen the duo's love story unfold over the years, with Hostin reflecting on it once in a while and insiders chiming on their unbreakable bond. Hostin and Emmanuel reportedly met at a church when they were both young residents of Maryland. The couple enjoyed two years of dating bliss and decided to settle down in 1998.  

Sunny and Emmanuel said their vows on Aug. 8, 1998, in an intimate ceremony. The Hostin couple has since welcomed two kids, both of whom have ventured into the real world, leaving the couple to enjoy their old conjugal bliss. The affluent couple resides in their mansion in New York.

Hostin and her husband have navigated all kinds of bumps in their marriage, including their struggle with conceiving a child, which Hostin has described as the worst experience. The View host suffered five miscarriages during her endless IVF journey.   

Hostin, while opening up about the heartbreaking struggle, said, "I got married at 30, my husband was younger. I had to go through round after round after round of IVF." The broadcaster went on to reveal that she and her husband depleted their savings to start a family and were blessed with two kids after ten years of rigorous effort.

Sunny often mentions her husband in her discourse and posts about their enduring marriage on social media. But what more do we know about Emmanuel besides that he is a surgeon? Well, for starters, the bloke has been with Sunny's rock throughout the hard times and her anchor whenever she faced a wave of confusion.   

According to sources, Emmanuel has two degrees from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University. Emmanuel has also done a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Healthcare Hospital. He currently works as a surgeon in New York.  

Emmanuel, who goes by the nickname Manny, underwent a great ordeal during the pandemic as he lost both of his parents to the virus. Sunny once dished on how she often goes to Manny for medical advice. The television host shared that she considered her husband's views on getting plastic surgery, and Manny disapproved of it as he liked Sunny the way she was. 

Sunny Hostin is a Doting Mother of Two!  

Only Sunny knows the struggles she underwent to become a mother. The lawyer-turned-broadcaster's happiness knew no bounds when she gave birth to her firstborn, Gabriel “Gabe” Hostin, on August 15, 2002, followed by her daughter, Paloma Hostin, on May 4, 2006.  

Throughout her successful run as a valuable host, Hostin has maintained a candid disposition when it comes to her motherhood journey. As it turns out, The View host is quite strict regarding being a parent. Sunny recently shared that she discouraged her 17-year-old daughter from wearing revealing clothing.  

The doting mother shared that she doesn't want men sexualizing her minor daughter. "I don't know if she's prepared to deal with that kind of attention that those nasty men are going to give her," explained Hostin while opening up about her parenting rule. Although Sunny's daughter is too young to be definite about her career goals, she is currently pursuing sports. 

Paloma is already hustling to carve a profile in sports as she took part in the Junior Olympics in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 2022. Sunny's oldest kid, Gabe, who turned 21 recently, is quite the sportsman and has a penchant for music. Gabe played football throughout high school and is currently enrolled at Harvard University.
