Born Claire Catherine Danes on April 12, 1979, in Manhattan, NY, Claire ventured into acting as a teenager. She was 15 when she rose to fame with the drama series, My So-Called Life. After a relatively controversial dating career, the Emmy-winning actress met her future husband, actor Hugh Dancy, on the set of their 2007 film, Evening. Best known for his award-winning role in the television series, Hannibal, Claire's husband, Hugh, 48, is an English actor. Dancy's other notable credits include Black Hawk Down, Ella Enchanted, and Shooting Dogs.  

The now-married duo, who played two-thirds of a love triangle in their film, Evening, experienced an epiphany-inducing moment in Rhode Island that convinced them that they were meant for each other. Even Danes' costar, Mamie Gummer, stands witness to the duo's destined moment.  

"I was there when it was happening and it's something that I will never forget," Gummer said in adoration of Claire and Hugh. The pair started dating shortly after and got engaged in February 2009, followed by their intimate wedding ceremony in September 2009.   

The Temple Grandin actress and her husband rarely talk about their private life but when they do, the two keep it insightful and honest. "I like marriage. I feel very secure. It helps when you are in love with the person you are married to," the Golden Globe-winning actress said as she gushed about her husband.  

Marrying early into their skyrocketing career surely came with some cons, which includes balancing their schedules. And to add on the troubles, the twosome also became parents pretty early on. Their first kid, Cyrus, was born in 2012. Dishing on how they keep the busy sheep moving, Hugh said, "It's a complicated balance."   

Claire's husband further shares, "We have got to be happy as a unit and I also want both of us to be happy independently and fulfilled in what we do." The long-married couple may not go around boasting about their successful marriage, but they seldom assert their mutual contentment in life.  

Claire and Dancy are thirteen years into their marriage and it seems the bliss is still going on. The Little Women actress recently welcomed their third kid. The couple had quietly confirmed their third pregnancy earlier this year in January. Danes and Hugh welcomed their second child, Rowan, in 2018.

An insider recently confirmed that the Emmy-winning actress secretly welcomed a child, although the baby's sex and name are yet to be revealed. The sweet confirmation came after the loved-up couple was spotted pushing their newborn in a stroller in New York City. The My So-Called Life actress previously revealed that their third pregnancy "wasn't intentional,"

Danes didn't have the best thing going on in her love life before Hugh came around. The Emmy-winning actress does not hold a long romantic past but the experience was scathing and controversial nonetheless. The Romeo and Juliet actress's first public boyfriend was singer-songwriter Ben Lee.   

Danes and Lee started dating when the Stardust actress was only 18. Lee, who was a budding artist at the time, alleges that he showed up at Danes' door with a banana and he recalls his pickup line was, "I'm really concerned for your health." What followed thereafter was a 6-year-long dating stint.  

The low-key couple quietly called it quits in 2003. Some sources later alleged that Claire cheated on Lee with Billy Crudup, with whom she had been friends for a long time. Danes and Crudup's love story started with a vile scandal as Crudup left his seven-month pregnant girlfriend, Mary-Louise Parker, to be with Danes.   

Despite the massive backlash and understandable hatred, Claire and Crudup carried on with their romance. But considering the sensationalism and widespread interest in their illicit romance, the duo kept it low-key. "That was a choice I made to fall in love," said the Emmy-winning actress after her breakup with Crudup in 2006. 

The Stardust actress added, "It’s unpleasant to be cast in such an unflattering role [in the tabloids]," referring to her homewrecker title. After the duo's scandalous romance and breakup, Crudup went on to marry actress Naomi Watts, and Danes found love with Hugh.
