At around 2:25 AM, the car crashed into a truck taking the lives of three adults, i.e Jayne, her attorney Sam Brody, and driver Ronnie Harrison. Zoltan and his siblings who were asleep in the back seat survived with minor injuries.
Although Hargitay survived the accident, it left a deep impact on his life. Zoltan lost his mother and always had a fear of road accidents.

Zoltan had six-hour brain surgery and contracted meningitis. Later, Jayne's attorney sued the theme park and asked for $1.6 Million on Hargitay's family's behalf. After receiving negativity, the theme park was closed.
