Adedoyin Olayiwola "Ade" Adepitan was born 27 March 1973 in Maryland, Lagos, Nigeria. Adepitan contracted polio at the age of fifteen months, resulting in the loss of function of his left leg and eventually preventing him from walking.
Adepitan and his mom immigrated to the United Kingdom at the age of three to join his dad who resided in Newham's London Borough. Then, he started to study at Plaistow's Southern Road Primary School, which he credits to help him with his handicap and home issues.
