Arwa Damon was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 19, 1977, to an American father, the principal of the American Community School in Beirut, and a Syrian mother, the granddaughter of Syria's previous prime minister. Currently, her age is 44 years as of 2021.

She graduated from Skidmore College in 1999 with a double major in French and Biology and a minor in international studies.

During her academic years, she majored in French and minored in biology and international affairs. Her mother influenced her to convert to Islam, making her a Syrian Muslim.
