Tony Award-winning actress and singer, Betty Buckley came to prominence for her role, Grizabella in the sung-through musical Broadway production of Cats. She is also famous for her portrayal of Miss Collis in Stephen King's supernatural horror film, Carrie. Throughout her professional career, she earned two Daytime Emmy-Awards, two Grammy Awards and became a 2012 American Theatre Hall of Fame inductee.

The Eight Is Enough actress, Buckley was married to an American director and acting coach, Peter Flood. The two tied the knot on 29th April 1972, at "Azle Deer Cove" in Tarrant County, Texas.

Well, the pair first met at Texas Christian University where they learned the art of acting in 1966. Moreover, they were a passionate animal lover and has rescued horses, donkeys, dogs, and cats.

When Peter asked for the marriage to Buckley, she told that she didn't want to be married because of the harsh environment she grew up in. In her words,

“I was afraid of being trapped, and I wanted an independent life but didn't dare to own up to that."

Nevertheless, Peter convinced her for marriage to take the pressure of her father off. They stayed married for more than seven years. However, they separated in 1979 but they couldn't bring themselves to divorce. Despite their separation, the duo is still one another's best friends.

After the break-up, Betty started dating Sisters director, Brian De Palma in 1975. Shortly they break up in late-1975. She also linked into a dating affair with Grayson McCouch for three years from 1993 to 1996.
