Two-time Emmy-nominated American actress, Brenda Strong is best known for her role Mary Alice Young in the popular television series, Desperate Housewives. It aired on ABC from October 3, 2004, until May 13, 2012, for eight seasons.

Brenda Strong was born on 25 March 1960 in Portland, Oregon, the United States as Brenda Lee Strong. She is the daughter of Jean Strong (mother) and Jack Strong (father).

In 1978, Brenda Lee completes her graduation from Sandy Union High School in Oregon. After moving to Arizona, she enrolled at Arizona State University where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in musical theatre. So far, Stong holds American citizenship and belongs to the white ethnicity.
