Candice Boyd

R&B singer and songwriter Candice Boyd is from San Bernardino, California. Boyd was born on December 2, 1990, and as of the writing of this article, is 30-years-of age. 

Boyd gained people's attention after participating in the reality tv show The Four: Battle For Stardom, aka The Four. Though she did not win the show, she surely won several hearts all over the world because of her amazing singing talent.

Candice Boyd grew up in a loving home where her family, including her parents, were very supportive of her career. Her father's name is Elder Randy Boyd, and her mother's name is Shiela Boyd. She has a sister named Nisha.

Boyd never fails to flaunt her tight bond with family members on her social media accounts. The 30-year-old frequently posts about her mom and dad on her Instagram account. On special occasions, she tweets wishing her parents and sister. She describes her father as a perfect example of a god-fearing man, husband, and father.  

Boyd also adores her sister's seven-year-old twin daughters, Aniyah and Alanah. 

Career As A Singer-Songwriter

At a very young age, Candice started singing in church, from where she gained her passion for music. Later, She started uploading her singing videos on her own channel, "CandiceBoydVEVO" which she initiated in 2015. In the course of time, APG/Atlantic Records noticed her talent, which took her path to Epic Records. 

Eventually, the 30-year-old collaborated with Ne-Yo and joined his Compound University roster. Boyd also worked with Nicki Minaj on The Pinkprint. In 2015, she appeared on Ne-Yo's song, She Said I'm Hood Tho, and even took the credit as a composer of Tamar Braxton's Never.

Subsequently, Boyd made a solo debut with the song Damn Good Time in June 2016. Later, in 2017 she was featured in BET Music's The Showcase in New York City and also released her second single titled  Make Me Over.

In the same year, she took part in the first season of The Four: Battle of Stardom as a challenger.

In the winter of 2018, Candice auditioned in the reality show, The Four. She soon became a fan favorite with various amazing performances, including "Love" by Keyshia Cole and Norman Whitfield's "I'm Goin' Down."

Boyd succeedingly made her path to finals, but she ended up being the runner-up of the season, losing to soul singer Evvie McKinney. Although she didn't win the show, she won the hearts of millions of fans, and the judges, DJ Khaled, Sean Combs, Meghan Trainor, and Charlie Walk. 

After the show, the California native has been continuing her career as a solo singer and has released several singles, including Replay and Doing Too Much.

Candice Boyd was rumored to be dating rapper Stevie J in 2016. The pair worked together on a music video. The speculations began when the singer's sister, Nisharese, mentioned that Boyd and Stevie are in a relationship in one of her Instagram posts.

The singer never addressed her affair rumors with Stevie, and eventually, news faded out. However, by 2018 it became clear that Boyd was not dating Stevie as the singer revealed her boyfriend in one of her Instagram stories. She mentioned that her boyfriend is very supportive but did not reveal his name.
