Christine Baranski

An American actress, singer, and producer, Christine Jane Baranski is well known for her roles in The Real Thing (1984), Chicago (2002), Mamma Mia! (2008), Into the Woods (2014). Christine is a 15-time Emmy Award nominee, winning once for the portrayal of Maryanne Thorpe in the sitcom Cybill. Moreover, she is a two-time winner of the Tony Awards.

Jane was born on May 2, 1952, to Virginia (nee Mazurowski) and Lucien Baranski, editor of Polish-language newspaper. Born in Buffalo, New York, Christine was raised in a Polish-Catholic neighborhood, where she received her education from Villa Maria Academy. Later, in 1974, she attended Juilliard School in New York City and graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Arts.
