''Playing fast around the drums is one thing. But to play music with people for others to listen to that's something else. That's a whole world.'' This was said by Tony Williams showing his passion and love towards drum. Similarly, we are discussing about Danny Goffey who is famous as a drummer for the ex-band Supergrass.
Danny Goffey is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He is well known as the drummer and back vocalist for the band Supergrass.
Danny was born on 7th February 1974 in Eton, Buckinghamshire, England. Born to his English parents, Chris Goffey and mother, he is of White ethnicity and holds British nationality. Goffey's father is a monitoring journalist and former presenter of Top Gear, and mother is an ex-Labour Party councillor. He grew up along with his brother Nic Goffey.
Danny spent his childhood in Berkshire. When he was thirteen, he shifted to Oxfordshire village of Forest Hill. Goffey joined Wheatly Park School, where he met Gaz Coombes. He was two year junior than Danny.
Goffey asked Gaz Combees to form a band with him (The Jennifers). In 1993, Danny and Gaz shared a house on Cowley road in south Oxford. However, Danny gave equal priorities to his study too. He completed A-levels at Henley College. Moreover, Goffey also served as a catering assistant in a school.
The same year, Combees intorduced Danny to Mick Quinn, who worked at a local Harvester. Soon, the Danny, Gaz, and Mick began playing together. After jamming for several months Supergrass (previously Theordore Supergrass) was formed.
The band had a good start with their debut album I Should Coco which peaked at number one in UK Albums Chart. Supergrass were together and recorded their album titled Release the Drones, slated for release in 2010. However the album remained unfinished and unreleased, later on 12th April 2010, the band announced of their split due to creative and musical differences.
After the split, Danny Goffey and Gaz Combees collaborated with other musicians such as Paul Weller to record a charity song titled Consequences for the charity crisis.
Besides his musical career, Goffey also appeared as a participant in the sixth series of Celebrity Masterchef aired via BBC One. He reached to the semi-finals.
Danny Goffey is a married man. Goffey exchanged his vows with Pearl Lowe on 8th December 2008, at Babington House, Somerset. Pearl is a mother of famous fashion model, Daisy Lowe. The pair dated for thirteen years and decided to live as husband and wife.
Since marriage, Danny and Pearl shares three children together, Frankie Goffey (born on 17th May), Betty Goffey (born in 2005), and Alfie Goffey (born on 9th October). Moreover, in 2010, it was announced that Danny and Pearl were expecting a new baby member. However, on 19th May 2010, Lowe had suffered miscarriage.
As of now, Danny and his wife is happy together, and there are no rumors or controversies about the pair that leads in to divorce.
