David Bloom

David Jerome Bloom, aka David Bloom was a well-known American television journalist who used to work for NBC. He was best known for his reporting skills and public interaction. Unfortunately, he died in Iraq while he was reporting the situation between Iraq and the U.S.

After his death, he was buried at Pound Ridge Cemetary in Pound Ridge, Westchester County, New York.

For David's bravery and dedication towards journalism, the National Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters established an award named The David Bloom Award in 2006. The award presents a $2,000 cash prize as a reward.

Bob Woodruff was the first candidate to win this award in the first year. Ian Pannell and Lyse Doucet are also among those journalists who has won this award.
