Eddie Fisher

Eddi Fisher is a well-known American singer and actor. He remained in the industry for more than five decades. The actor started his career in 1948 and left a remark to his name.

Eddi Fisher served in the U.S Army and was deployed in Korea for a year. He was the official vocal soloist for The United States Army Band from 1952 to 1953. The actor initially started his career as a singer and made it to the top. 

Death of Eddie Fisher

Eddi Fisher is no more with us. The legendary actor passed away on September 22, 2010, in Berkeley, California. Eddi passed away at the age of eight two. As per sources, Fisher fell and broke his hip on September 9, 2010, and he died 13 days later from complications from hip surgery. 

The late actor had many problems at the end of his life. His family members mentioned that He remained mentally vigorous and kept himself busy watching television and following news and politics. Also, He suffered from knee, back, hearing, and eyesight problems. He even had a cataract removal surgery at the end.

Many of us know Eddie for his successful career of acting and singing. However, He is also famous for his relationship history. Eddi's marriage life started as early as her career. Eddi was first married to Debbie Reynolds for four years from 1955 to 1959. 

From this first marriage, The love birds had two children, Carrie Fisher, and Todd Fisher. Soon after separating from Debbie, Eddi tied his wedding knot with Elizabeth Taylor. Similar to that of his first marriage, this also ended in 1964. The reason for their separation is not shared with the public.

Eddi remained single for some time and then found love with American actress Connie Stevens in 1969. Soon after the wedding, The duo welcomed their first child, Joely Fisher. Then in 1968, The family of three extended to four welcoming, Tricia Leigh Fisher. 

However, This happy looking relationship never remained the same after the birth of two children. The couple separated in 1969. Eddie married his fourth wife, Terry Richard, in 1975 and was separated the following year in 1976. 

In 1993, Eddie married his fifth and last wife, Betty Lin. This marriage ended in 2001 with the death of Lin. Towards the end of his life, Eddie remained single and lived with his children and grandchildren.

Eddie Fisher was born as Edwin Jack Fisher on August 10, 1928, like Richard Chamberlain's late brother, William Hayes Chamberlain. Likewise, his birth place is Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Eddie was born among the seven children born to Gitte Kathrine "Kate" Tisch and Joseph Fisher. His siblings were Sidney, Nettie, Miriam, Janet, Alvin, and Eileen.

Eddie's father's surname was originally Tisch but was changed to Fisher by the 1940 census time. Fisher dropped out of high school, South Philadelphia High School in the middle of his senior year to pursue his career.
