The pair became parents of two children, including a son, Paul Buttafuoco, and a daughter, Jessica Buttafuoco (born on 29th March 1983). Moreover, Jessica has become a prominent actress, who made her debut appearance in the 2017 movie Media Res. During Evanka's husband, Joey was in his first marriage with Mary, he had an extramarital affair with 16-years old Amy Fisher, a minor who later became an adult film actress. It all started when Amy met Joey in his auto body shop in Baldwin, Nassau County, New York and they became romantically involved in a sexual relationship in July 1991. Later, Amy came to Joey's house to reveal to his wife, Mary Jo, about their physical affair on 19th May 1992.

First of all, Fisher gave proof of their pedophile relationship by showing a t-shirt of Joey's auto body shop logo that he gave her. When Mary Jo asked her to leave and call Joey, Amy pulled a .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol and shot Mary Jo in the face, and left her severely injured. But, Mary luckily survived the attempt of her murder and later identified Fisher as her assailant.

Following the incident, the police department of Long Island started investigating the matter. Furthermore, the police arrested Fisher for the crime and found her guilty in a court of a first-degree assault and attempt to murder case on 23rd September 1992. 

The court sentenced Fisher to 5 years to 15 years in imprisonment on 2nd December 1992. But, she served 7 years behind bars and was released in May 1999 with granted parole. Meanwhile, Joey was found guilty of statutory rape and spent four months and nine days in jail after the judgment made by the court in October 1993. 

After 14 years of the incident, Joey and Fisher met again at the Lingerie Bowl for the coin toss in 2006. Recently, the two were seen at a retro, located in Port Jefferson, Long Island while having dinner. However, they deny the fact that they are still having an affair at the moment.
