James Yap was born James Carlos Agravante Yap Sr. on February 15, 1982, in Escalante Negros Occidental. James seems to be the only child born to Carlos Yap and his wife, Annie Yap. Much information about his parents is still under investigation. James graduated from the University of the East. He was first drafted into PBA in 2004.
