According to the latest developments and officials in the case, Jennifer was brutally slain after a violent attack at her house in New Canann. Her corpse, however, was never identified.

The police accused her husband, Fotis, of being involved in the case. Connecticut State Police detained him on January 7, 2020, accusing him of capital murder and kidnapping in connection with her disappearance.

Later, her spouse  Fotis committed suicide on January 28, 2020, by killing himself with carbon monoxide via his SUV. He was pronounced deceased at Jacobi Medical Center on January 30. American rapper DThang was shot and killed outside a nightclub.
