Who is Jo Wood?

Despite having an enchanting career, some of the personality gains fame after their high-profile dating and marriage records only. With that saying Jo Wood is one of the celebs who got prominence after the nuptials.

Jo Wood is an English model, entrepreneur, and television personality. She widely recognized as the ex-spouse of Ronnie Wood. He is the guitarist for the legendary rock band The Rolling Stones. 

Moreover, Jo Wood has traveled to numerous places in the world, including New York, Los Angeles, currently in London. During her days in New York, Jo designed work with a fashion line named No Scruples as a designer. In addition to her own autobiography named Hey Jo, which Wood published in Feb 2013. 

Jo Wood was born as Josephine Karslake on 15th March 1955 in Essex. Born to her British parents Michael Karslake and Rachel Lundell, she is of Caucasian ethnicity and holds British nationality.

Karslake's father worked as an architectural model maker, whereas her mother was a dollmaker and Avan lady. She is the eldest of her three siblings, two brothers Paul Karslake and Vinnie Karslake and a sister named Lize. 

Jo must've have graduated from her high school and university with good grades, however, it has not been disclosed yet. 

At the young age, Josephine began working as a model until 22, when she became The Sun's Face of 1972.

After gaining a quite fame from her career as a model and competition, Wood began making her appearances on TV which include, Heston's Feast, Angela & Friends, Britain's Got More Talent, The Hairy Bikers, Who's Doing the Dishes on the Sofa with Lorraine Kelly, Market Kitchen, and Strictly Come Dancing.

Additionally, Jo was also voted as one of Grazia magazine's Women of the Year in 2008. Moreover, she has also won the 'Inspirational Determination' Award during Inspirational Awards for Women 2010. Josephine is also serving as the judging panel for Soil Association Organic Food Awards & Observer Ethical Awards.  

Besides, Karslake is also known for her writing. She has written editorial columns in Fabulous & and natural Health magazine. She has also written her own book titled How to Look and Feel Healthy, Energetic and Radiant the Organic Way.

On 13th July 2013, Wood made her appearance on the television show named Celebrity Masterchef, where she ended up being the second participant to be eliminated. 

Strictly Come Dancing

In the year 2009, Josephine Wood participated in the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. She was partnered with Brendan Cole. The duo was eliminated in the sixth week of the show and achieved 14/40 for their Samba.

This also helped Josephine to gain more fame, they were very popular pair in the dancing show. 

Mrs Paisley's Lashings

In 2009, Josephine opened her own pop-up restaurant named Mrs Paisley's Lashings, along with the British eco chef Arthur Potts Dawson. 

The restaurant was set up in Josephine's house, with a purpose to promote sustainable dining and green living. All food was grown on Wood's garden, also sourced locally wherever possible. 

From each restaurant, Wood donates the profit to a garden in Schools Scheme. Wood set up to assist children to understand where their food comes from. Moreover, Mrs Paisley's Lashings has also popped up at Harvest at Jimmy's, music and food festival which happens in Suffolk every September.

Alien Nation Podcast

Besides her career as a model, entrepreneur, Josephine is a keen believer of Aliens and UFOs since she has spotted strange lights in the sky in Brazil.

Jo Wood's first husband

In the year 1973, Jo Wood eloped with her first husband Peter Greene. The wedding was held in Las Vegas. The couple welcomes a baby boy Jamie in the same year of their marriage.

The couple was going fine until they began facing problems and finally ended up in divorce in 1976.

Jo's Second husband

The following year of her divorce, Jo Wood met her second husband Ronnie Wood. He is a well-known guitarist for The Rolling Stones. 

The couple dated for many years and finally decided to get married on 2nd January 1985. From their nuptials, Ronnie and Josephine share two children together, Tyrone Wood (born on 21st August 1983), and Leah Wood (born on 22nd September1978). 

Ronnie also adopted Jamie from Jo's previous marriage. Similarly, Jo also helped to raise Jesse Wood from Ronnie's previous marriage with Krissy Findlay.

The couple was living together happily until they began facing issues and divorced in 2009. 

As Ronnie had been talking about his struggle his addiction to alcohol, however, according to some reports from 2003-2006, Ronnie Wood was sober since their band tour 2002-2003. 

Later in June 2006, it was reported that Wood was going to rehab due to his excessive alcohol use. According to the report of July 2008, Wood had already been into rehab for six times, the last time he checked into rehab was before his daughter Leah's wedding. He was again planning for a seventh admission. 

In 2008 July, Ronnie left his wife Jo for Katia Ivanova, with whom he met in London club. Again on 16th July 2008. The following year Josephine Wood filed for divorce which was finalized in late 2009. 

As of now, Jo Wood has nine grandchildren, two from Leah, three from Jaime, and four from Jesse. Moreover, Tyrone and Jaime together runs a gallery in Mayfair, London, named the Scream Gallery.

The following year in August, she also made the pilgrimage to sacred Mount Kailash in Tibet along with Sadhuguru Jaggi Vasudev writing features for National Geographic initiative in India which plants trees to help combat the devastating effects of climate change. 

Moreover, Josephine has also taken to the catwalk two years running for Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief in support of the White Ribbon Alliance. 

Later in 2009, she served along with her daughter Leah in order to promote 18 Degrees of Inspiration for climate change charity Global Cool. The same year, she also joined the 10;10 project, which is a movement that encourages people to reduce their carbon emissions. 

In addition, Jo has also become an official Bee ambassador for environmental campaigning organization Friends of the Earth working to raise vital awareness for the plight of British Pollinators as part of the critically acclaimed Bee Cause and Great British Bee Count, which is a campaign to protect and preserve Bees.

In 2009, When Ronnie and Josephine got divorced due to Ronnie's excessive use of alcohol. By this behavior of Ronnie, Jo could not stay longer with him, as she filed for divorce in 2009.
