Johnny was born on 28th April 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, the United States of America, where another television star Emily Trebek was born. Born to his American parents, he is of White ethnicity and holds an American nationality.

The famous television star was rumored to be dead after by most of his fans and followers, which turned out to be false. Johnny is alive and still a part of the show.
