She started her romantic affair with her co-actor from Star Trek, Karl Urban. No, guys, he is not related to famous singer Keith Urban by any means. The couple is very comfortable with each other and is also familiar with each other's family.
Karl Urban's second attempt to find love
After a failed marriage, Karl Urban is all set to find love again. Prior to Katee, he tied the knot with Natalie Wihongi in September 2004. The couple seemed very happy in their marital relationship but a decade later, they announced their separation.
The reason for their divorce is not shared. In June 2014, the pair announced their split by providing a joint statement,
"It is with great regret that we, Karl Urban and Natalie Wihongi, have made the mutual decision to separate. We are committed to maintaining our family relationship, working together to ensure that our children are affected as little as possible. We request that people respect our family's privacy at this time and will be making no further comment".
Karl is the father of two children with Natalie, Hunter Urban, and Indiana Urban. On the other hand, Katee also was in a seven-year relationship with producer Scott Niemeyer. As of now, her relationship status is single. Sackhoff is enjoying her life and especially after fighting thyroid cancer in 2004, she is starting to appreciate her life more. Every day, she takes her medication and tries to make healthy lifestyle choices.
After the tumor surgery in 2004, she said,
"I think the thing that changed my life so much was just the idea that life is very finite, and cancer had touched me at what I thought was a very young age".
She further added,
"Since then, I just take my thyroid medication on a daily basis and live a full, happy, healthy life that is relatively smooth at this point".
