Keller Williams Integrity Realty realtor, Nicole initially sued the Detroit Land Bank Authority for claiming fake ownership. According to the reports, her company, Detroit Renovations LLC, owned the 1921 foursquare at 451 East, Grand Boulevard for $17,000 in 2017 and she rehabbed the property with total expenses of $60,000.
On the other hand, the Detroit Land Bank Authority said that the property is under the house's owner during the long court battle. As per the land band executive director, Saskia Thompson denied the claims of Curtis over the property, saying;
“She[Nicole Curtis] never owned the house. If she has any legal cause of action, it’s not against us,”
“We’re not the ones that took money from her for that property. Someone else did when they no longer owned it.”
Nevertheless, Nicole proclaimed that she committed a huge investment into the rehabbing of the Detriot property. Also, The Detriot News published an article about Nicole's plan to invest $500,000 more on the Detriot property.
