Who is Ramesh Balwani? 

Former president of Theranos, Ramesh Balwani, accused by the U.S. of huge fraud, has a jaw-dropping explanation for why he is innocent. He says he couldn't defraud investors because he never made cash.

Ramesh Balwani was born in 1965 in Pakistan as Ramesh Sunny Balwani. In 1986, he moved to the U.S. to pursue his studies. He joined the University of Texas in Austin where he obtained his undergraduate degree, specializing in information systems and artificial intelligence.

Before establishing CommerceBid, Ramesh worked for Microsoft and Lotus Software. He then graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Master of Business Administration. He then went to Stanford University to pursue a degree in chemical engineering but later fell out to concentrate on Theranos full-time, which he joined in 2009.

In addition, Elizabeth Holmes established the Theranos business that offers health technology that is privately owned. Balwani entered Theranos despite having less or no knowledge in the field of biotechnology. Not only this, but he was also Theranos former chairman and chief executive.

Theranos later claimed to have conceived revolutionary blood tests using very tiny quantities of blood for his false claims. Theranos was criticized in the press at the start of 2015-2016 because of their questionable allegations and methods.

In June 2018, the U.S. Department of Juswas was charged with fraud and conspiracy by the U.S. Department of Justice. And most importantly, the defense of Balwani is that at Theranos, he never made any cash.

At present, Balwani is living very much of a single life. More than dating anyone, he is focused on his profession and his future settlement. 

Past Relationship with Keiko Fujimoto

Even though he is currently single, we can not really say he lived his life as a single man. Balwani was previously married to Keiko Fujimoto, a Japanese artist. There are no details on when the couple tied their knot. However, as per some of the report, the former pair split in 2002. Also, the couple never disclosed the reason for their separation.

What's was in between Elizabeth Holmes?

Ramesh also briefly dated Elizabeth Holmes back then. The two met in 2003, while Holmes was still in college and at the age of 18, while Balwani was in her senior year and married to Keiko Fujimoto. Balwani divorced his spouse in 2004 and moved in 2005 to an apartment with Holmes.

Until his tenure at Theranos, Balwani and Holmes were in a relationship. They later disclosed they're not together anymore. 

Ramesh Balwani Net Worth

Ramesh is enjoying an impressive net worth of around $85 million. But he cashed out his shares in Commerce One after Commerce One introduced CommerceBid, gathering about $40 million. In addition, through Theranos, he and his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Holmes raised $700 million in investor cash.

In addition, Ramesh has not revealed any details on his cars, assets, or any other source of revenue. Together with his family, he lives a wealthy lifestyle in a lovely home in Pakistan. Just like Ramesh Joe Germanotta and Lisa Hintelmann also earns a pretty good amount of money from their respective business firm.
