Who is Rico Hizon? 

The Asia Business Report and Newsday anchored by BBC World News reporter is Rico Hizon. He was the first native to become a significant newscaster for both BBC and CNBC Asia in The Philippines. 

Rico Hizon was born March 24, 1966, in Manila, Philippines. After graduating from De La Salle University in Communication Arts and Business, Hizon trained at the University of Radio, Television, and Broadcasting. Then, he joined the University of Northeastern Philippines, Ph.D. in Humanities, Honoris Causa. There are not single details about his parents, siblings, and early life. 

From 1988 to 1995, Hizon began his broadcasting career at the GMA Network in Manila. There he worked as accountable for covering capital markets, banking and finance, real estate, investment, and corporate development. 

Later Hizon entered CNBC Asia in April 1995, based in Hong Kong and then in Singapore, where he was the primary anchor of CNBC Today's morning edition, Squawk Box, Market Watch and Power Lunch. Till date, he has already earned a number of awards due to his outstanding anchoring skill. 

Hizon presented again from the London newsroom on May 2017, with Sharanjit Leyl taking over from Singapore's presenting responsibilities. It was announced that this was for only one week, with Hizon returning for the next week to Singapore. He is still serving in BBC News. Carol Kirkwood, Alina Jenkins, and Wendy Hurrell are a prominent figure of BBC News.

Well, it's true that Rico is a married man. He is now married to a beautiful lady, Melannie Syquia. It all began when their mutual friend put the pair on a blind date. Ever since then, they only have eyes for each other. 

His spouse, Melannie, shares the enthusiasm for advocacy with Rico himself. She serves as GoodNews Pilipinas.com's CEO and operations director. Through the art-events undertaking of Melannie, Art Sentral Asia, they encourage Filipino art in Singapore.
