Carell was born on 16th August 1962, in Massachusetts, at Emerson Hospital. Steve spent most of his childhood in Acton. Born to his father, Edwin A. Carell, and mother Harriet T, he is of White ethnicity and holds American nationality. 

Steve Carell is an American comedian, actor, and director. He is most famous for his appearance in the television series The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Office as gaffe-prone boss Michael Scott. His profession goes quite similar to Steven Seagal, who also holds multi-career an actor, producer, director, and martial artist. 

He grew up along with his three elder brothers, Gregory Carell, Timothy Carell, and Michael Carell. Steve's father, Edwin, worked as an electrical engineer, and his mother, Harriet, worked as a psychiatric nurse.

Steve joined Nashoba Brooks School, The Fenn School, and finally, The Middlesex School. Later, Carell graduated with a degree in history via Dension University in 1984. 

Steve started earning as a mail carrier in his hometown, Massachusetts. Fortunately, after a few months of working as a postman, Carell got the opportunity to perform in a children theater company. 

Moreover, he also made his appearance in a comedy musical titled Knat Scatt Private Eye. After gaining huge success, Carell began working in television including, The Dana Carvey Show, Curly sue and credited his voice in the Ambiguously gay Duo.

Steve Carell is a married man. He is happily in a marital relationship with Nancy Carell. The pair first met when she was a student in an improvisation class at the Second City.

His wife Nancy is the former star of Saturday Night Live. Moreover, she is famous for her works with Steve on The Correspondent Show. The couple together has performed on many television series and movies like The Office.

Talking about their affair before marriage, Carell and Nancy were shy to ask each other for a date. He said in an interview, 

"The conversation would go something like, 'Hey, you know, if I were ever to ask a woman out, it would be someone like you. Exactly like you. And she'd say, 'If a guy like you were ever to ask a woman like me out, I would definitely do that.'"

After dating some time, Steve and Nancy exchanged their wedding vows on 5th August 1995. From the nuptials, the pair shares two children; a son John Carell (born in 2004), and a daughter Elisabeth Anne Carell (born in 2001).

The father of two children claims his career changed after the arrival of their daughter. Carell elaborated, 

"I'll never forget the first audition after my daughter was born. I nailed it because I didn't care any more. Before that, I hadn't had great success auditioning for TV shows, it was spotty at best, but for that audition, it wasn't a life or death thing."
