Who is Trino Marin?

Currently, Trino is branded as a criminal who is serving his time in prison. Before he was a criminal, Trino used to run a restaurant. He worked as a restaurant manager and later married the late American singer Janni.

Trino or José Trinidad "Trino" Marin, was born on February 15, 1964. He was born in the United States, but his parents were from Mexico. Even though Marin was born in America, his childhood was spent in Mexico.

The Mexican-American came under the spotlight after marrying the bestselling Latino singer, Janni Rivera. Trino and Janni apparently met during high school. The couple married in 1984, and their marriage lasted for eight years.

The Rugged Relationship of Jenni and Trino 

Trino was the first husband of Jenni. The two met during high school, and their relationship was not pretty. Their relationship was marked by abuse and conflicts. Their marriage and relationship were kept secret from the world. Even their marriage ceremony was held privately.

Trino first met his wife Jenni when he was 20 years old, and she was 15. Jenni got pregnant with her son Chiquis Rivera when she was merely 17. The couple married in 1984 in a secret marriage ceremony. Their time together came with a lot of conflicts.

The relationship between Trino and Jenni ended in 1992. Their romance began well, but Jenni's marriage turned sour. She said in court that her husband often behaved poorly and was abusive. He always wanted to control the relationship.

Jenni Rivera: Late Latino Singer and Trino's First Wife

Rivera was born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 16, 1967. She started singing in the 1980s and became famous after her album "Enamorada" in 1995. Jenni and Trino had three more children, Chiquis Rivera, Jacqie Campos, and Michael Marin, before they divorced.

Jenni got custody of all the children, and Trino was found guilty. In her 20-year music career, Jenni released 12 albums, including "Jenni, Parrandera, Rebelde," and won a Latin Grammy Award. Jenni was known for motivating people never to give up, no matter how hard things got. 

Jenni was known to spread love through her music and inspired millions of people. At 43, Jenni died suddenly in 2012. She died in a jet crash near Monterrey, Mexico. She was on her way to attend Mexico's version of The Voice when the unfortunate event occurred.

Unfortunate Tragedy of Junnu Rivera

After divorcing Marin, Rivera had new relationships. She cared for her children and later married Juan Lopez, but they separated in 2003. In 2010, she married retired baseball player Esteban Loaiza.

Rivera tragically died in a helicopter crash on her way to Toluca, Mexico, where she was supposed to appear on The Voice. At the time, she was in the process of divorcing her third husband. The accident occurred on December 9, 2012. 

She was 43 years old when she died, and she was buried on December 31, 2012. After her death, her children supported each other. The oldest sister, Chiquis, took on a motherly role for her younger siblings. Despite the tragedy, the children remained strong and stood by each other.

Sentenced to 31 Years in Prison

Trino committed a heinous crime of sexually assaulting his daughter. Not only that, Trino also molested his sister-in-law Rosa Amelia Rivera. The crimes committed by Trino are disgusting for me as a writer to even write about it.

Marin committed his crimes in Long Beach and was charged in 1997. He fled justice and was a fugitive until last year. On May 9, a jury convicted him of eight felony counts, including lewd acts and sexual assault on a child.

The court adjourned with Trino getting 31 years in prison for molesting his daughter and sister-in-law. Rivera apologized for her family's past actions and expressed relief that the ordeal was over. Marin's attorney requested a new trial claiming Marin's innocence. However, the judge disagreed.
