Marin committed his crimes in Long Beach and was charged in 1997. He fled justice and was a fugitive until last year. On May 9, a jury convicted him of eight felony counts, including lewd acts and sexual assault on a child.
The court adjourned with Trino getting 31 years in prison for molesting his daughter and sister-in-law. Rivera apologized for her family's past actions and expressed relief that the ordeal was over. Marin's attorney requested a new trial claiming Marin's innocence. However, the judge disagreed.
