Yamma Brown is best known as the legendary James Brown's aka James Joseph Brown's youngest daughter. James was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, musician, record producer, and bandleader known as the Godfather of Soul, Mr. Dynamite, and Soul Brother No. 1.

Apart from this, Yamma has worked as a Clinical Pharmacist for more than 20 years and organizes community health outreach initiatives. She is also the Founder and CEO of Daughter of Soul Productions and a published author.

Is Yamma Brown Married?

Yamma Brown, aka Yamma Noyola Brown, is not a married woman at the moment; infact, she is single. Previously, she was married to Darren-Anthony Lumar, chairman and chief executive of Lumar Worldwide Industries, an international corporate-services company.

The ex-couple met for the first time when Yamma was serving clinical rotations at DeKalb Medical Center in Atlanta as the resident pharmacist on the medical team caring for Lumar's stepfather. Soon after that, the couple started dating each other.

Furthermore, in 1998, the author and Lumar had their first date. Then after two months of their first dating, the couple engaged and eventually married in 1999. 

Although their marriage was not good and during a violent dispute outside their apartment, she was kicked by her husband soon after her marriage. Later, due to her husband's violence, Yamma decided to get separated. But sadly, Darren was murdered in 2008.

Yamma seems single at the moment since Darren Lumar's death and is grateful for her new life. Yamma does not reveal much information about her life on social media, but she does post photographs of herself with her parents and her attendance at events.

Yamma Brown has shared two kids from her marriage with Lumar. She is the proud mother of a daughter Sydney Lumar and a son Carrington Lumar whose date of birth is still under wraps.

Yamma Brown's dad, James Brown, was connected in intimacy with four ladies in his lifetime along with Yamma's mother. At first, on June 27, 1953, he tied the knot with Velma Warren and shared a son, Teddy Brown (1954–1973). The couple had split up, and their divorce was finalized in 1969.

Soon after that, the late singer got hitched with Deidre Jenkins on October 22, 1970, separated in 1979, and finalized their divorce on January 10, 1981. Moreover, the ex-couple shared two daughters Deanna Brown Thomas (born before marriage) and Yamma Brown.

After three years of divorce from his second wife, the late dancer married Adrienne Lois Rodriguez in 1984. Lois filed for divorce in 1988 due to domestic violence, but later they reconciled and lived together.

But unfortunately, Adrienne died on January 6, 1996. Moreover, the ex-husband-wife duo shared two sons Terry Brown, and Larry Brown.

After that, the late musician exchanged his marriage vows on December 23, 2001, with Tomi Rae Hynie, who was James' background singer. However, because Tomi had not officially split from her former husband, Tomi and James were never married legally, and they broke their relationship in 2006. Yamma Brown was born in 1972 in Augusta, Georgia, United States, to James Brown and Deidre Jenkins. However, she has not disclosed her exact age to the media till now. Moreover, she has nine siblings from her father's all marriages.

Concerning her education qualification, she went to Archbishop Keough High School in Baltimore, Maryland, for her higher education. She then got undergraduate training from the University of Maryland at College Park, Maryland.
