Amal's husband, Younes, started his high school football career with his hometown club, Racing Club Aramon. At the age of 13, he was selected for playing as a defensive midfielder for the big football clubs like Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, and Saint-Etienne.

During Younes' 2010-2011 season, he made his European debut with Montpellier in the UEFA Europa League on 29th July 2010.
