Who is George Shapiro?

George Shapiro is an American television producer and talent manager. He is also known as one of the best and successful managers in show business. Moreover he is also known for representing Carl Reiner, Andy Kaufman, and Jerry Seinfeld, and worked as a producer for the hit sitcom Seinfeld. 

George was born on 18th May 1931, in Bronx, where anither American television producer Jocelyn Howard was born. He was raised there as well. Born to a Jewish family, George is of Caucasian ethnicity and holds American nationality. 

Shapiro attended P.S. 80, DeWitt Clinton School where he met his future business partner Howard West in the third grade. Later, Shapiro joined New York University. 

After his graduation from the New York University, George started his career working in mailroom at the William Morris Agency based in NY. His dedication and dedication made him an agent of the company. 

One of George's first assignment was to accompany famous singer Elvis Presley during his portrayal on The Ed Sullivan Show. Sooner or later, George started packaging programs which includes, The Steve Allen Show, That Girl featuring Marlo Thoma, and Gomer Pyle along with Jim Nabors.

In order to further his career, Shapiro left William Morris and began working as a producer and personal manager along with her partner and friend Howard West. Together the duo founded Shapiro/West Productions, and the executive produced peabody, Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning series, Seinfeld.

Moreover, he also served as executive producer with his partner West on the 1999 Universal biopic Man in the Moon featuring Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman and Danny DeVito as Shapiro.

On 30th June 2012, all the people of comedy world gathered at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel located in Beverly Hills in order to honor Shapiro.

Shapiro was a married man. He was married to his long-term wife Diane Barnett. The couple dated for a long time before getting married. However, there is no exact information about the couple's marriage. 

The pair must be sharing children together, but it is still a secret. George does not wishes to talk much about his personal life. Shapiro and his wife was going great until his spouse Diane's death on 21st Feb 2005. The reason behind her death is said to be breast cancer.

Since then, Shapiro seems to be living single and happy. There are no information about his personal life after Diane passed away. Neither is George seen dating anyone.
