Urban was born on June 7, 1972, in Wellington, New Zealand, to his parents as Karl-Heinz Urban. He attended the St Mark's Church School as a child. Later he went to Wellington College for his high school education and got his Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University of Wellington.

One of The Boys

In 2019 the actor from New Zealand landed a role in Amazon's hit web series The Boys as Billy Butcher. He starred with Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, and Chance Crawford.

He plays the role of a superhero hunter for the eight episodes of the first season. The show started shooting the second season in 2019 and will be aired in mid-2020.
