Leland Chapman was born as Leland Blane Chapman on December 14, 1976, in Groom, Texas. He is among the two biological children born to his father, Duane Lee "Dog" Chapman Sr. and his first wife, La Fonda Sue Honeycutt. He has a brother named Duane Lee Chapman, II. Leland graduated from a nearby high school when he was 18.
