Linda Yu

The five local Emmy Award-winning Linda Yu is the former Television journalist who served as an anchor, reporter for WLS-TV, channel 7 owned by ABC, licensed to Chicago, Illinois. The Chinese/American media personality Yu also received the National Gold Medal from National Conference of Community and Justice for her documentary, "The Scars of Belfast".

Linda was born on December 1, 1946, in Xian, China. She has sisters named Lela Yu among others. Linda moved to Hongkong with her family and siblings at the age of 3. Later, in 1951 when Linda was five-years-old the whole family moved to the USA.

Concerning education, Linda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Southern California (USC).

Richard and Linda tied the wedding knot on June 12, 1982. The intimate wedding ceremony held at St. James Cathedral in Chicago in front of their dearest ones.

Soon after the wedding, while heading towards a honeymoon in Southern France, Linda and Richard faced an auto accident. Following the accident, Baer was hospitalized due to a mild injury.

The former husband-wife duo was living merrily and was sharing a healthy bond. The married pair was also happily parenting their kids. Everything was going fine; however, in 1996 after 14-years Linda and Richard divorced.
