Marcella Samora is an American social activist and the co-founder of The Selena Foundation. Ever since the traumatic death of her youngest daughter Selena, she has been handling the non-profit organization on her own. She is also chasing the main goal of her beloved daughter to guide and encourage underprivileged children with proper education.

Marcella is actively volunteering in numerous charity programs for the betterment of the poor people living in society. The couple's first child, Abraham married thricely and his first marriage was with Vangie Quintanilla. His second matrimonial relationship with Rikkie Quintanilla lasted for six years from 4th November 2011 to 5th July 2016. Furthermore, he tied the knot with an Argentinian woman, Anjelah O. Quintanilla on 16th September 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The pair's eldest daughter, Suzette has been living in a marital union with Bill Arriaga since 1993. On the other hand, their youngest daughter, Selena exchanged her wedding vows with rock and roll guitarist, Chris Perez on 2nd April 1992.

Tragic Death of Marcella Samora's Daughter, Selena

Marcella Samora's youngest daughter, Selena took her last breath on 31st March 1995 at Corpus Christi Hospital based in Texas. At the time of her death, she was only 23 years old. The cause of her demise is a gunshot wound to the subclavian artery by her friend, Yolanda Saldivar, who served as the manager of Selena's boutiques from 1991 to 1994.

When Saldivar was working for Selena, she misappropriated money throughout the huge fan club of Selena after her dad, Abraham permitted her to work as a president of the fan club. It was also found that Saldivar misused Selena's boutique earnings with fake cheques. And when she was caught, she decided to kill Selena by inviting her to a motel room and, the rest is history. 

During Selena's memorial ceremony, there were over 3,000 fans lined up for almost a mile at her funeral at Bayfront Plaza in Corpus Christi on 1st April 1995. Also, almost 40 thousand fans passed by Selena's casket at the time of burial at Seaside Memorial Park. Numerous world-class artists send heartfelt condolences to the Quintanilla family on their loss of a gem of the music industry.

On the other hand, Saldivar was found guilty of killing Selena on first-degree murder, embezzlement, and sexual assault at the Harris County Criminal Courthouse in Houston, Texas on 23rd October 1995. The court sentenced Saldivar to life in imprisonment without any parole submission until 30th March 2025 under the judgment of Mike Westergren.

Diagnosed with a Tumor

Marcella had a tumor when she was pregnant with her third child, who is none other than her late daughter, Selena in 1970. During that time, she and her husband, Abraham moved from Corpus Christi, Texas to Lake Jackson, Texas at the beginning of 1970.

After the doctor's advice, Marcella had to take decisive action about her disease. Later, she underwent a long surgical operation to remove her tumor. She successfully recovered from the disease.

Marcella and her spouse, Abraham were expecting a son, and also took the name, Marc Antony for their child after the surgery. Nevertheless, she gave birth to a baby girl at Freeport Community Hospital in Texas on 16th April 1971, whom they named Selena after the recommendation of one of their pregnant patient at the hospital.
